Edinbrrrrgh

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

There’s a 48 sheet up in Edinburgh at the moment. Headline is as above. And it refers you to a website: coldisthenewhot.com or co.uk. So I placidly tried to check it out and nothing.

Good tease.

I think I preferred the Times campaign.

This (courtesy of David Watson) is a beautiful little ad that we put together not so long ago for a Northen Irish helpline. Enjoy.

Feeding my obsession about graffiti, check out this funny little story.

e-ink magazine covers

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

I was very excited to read about the first ever electronic magazine cover, trailed a while back by Esquire to celebrate their 75th anniversary.

I haven’t sought this for myself in the shops yet (if it’s even available in this country - could just be an american gimmick, sorry brilliant technological advance) but from this youtube clip, it looks to be a bit of a sad anti-climax. Disappointing.

will you take the challenge?

I’m off on holiday next week. I’ve been carefully not drinking alcohol all week in preparation. (Tiny steps towards a healthier me…)

I shall leave you with this to entertain you in my absence. (We did it. It’s pretty cool. Cactus Kid eat your heart out.)

self-mutilating sausage

I saw a great run of ads last night while half-watching TV (my denial way of pretending I’m doing something else while actually slyly watching all the ads if not the programmes).

There’s a lovely new ad from Mcdonalds as part of their persistent ‘aren’t we friendly, natural and good for you, honest?’ campaign. But my favourite was the angry sausage who ends up snatching up a portion of his own flesh to guzzle down in the midst of his fury. Taking cannibalism to a whole new level. Hannibal Lector would be proud.

cornflakes

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

I’ve given up on the summer. It’s crisp and blue skied for now but it’ll be stormy again in an hour.

In the meantime however, is there any better breakfast on a crisp blue skied and brisk morning than cornflakes with ice-cold milk..?

You have to take pleasure in the little things in this rainy land.
